Where To Start?
There are numerous criteria to sift through when looking at purchasing fish oils. In this installment we will take a look at one of the important factors often neglected in most reviews, natural ratios.
What are Natural Ratios?
Natural ratio refers to the amount of Omega 3’s present in the fish oil itself. In nature we find that there is a 18:12 or 3:2 ratio of EPA to DHA. EPA and DHA are the two Omega 3’s we are taking fish oil for and are the ingredients that get the results we seek.
What Do They Do?
When you take fish oil you want results, and when the ratio of EPA and DHA is a natural ratio, absorption has been shown to increase dramatically. Increased absorption makes a lot of sense when we stop to think that this is the ratio that nature came up with, and is the one your body most easily recognizes and utilizes.
To check your ratios just look on your fish oil label and see if EPA and DHA amounts are in the ratio of 3:2. Once you find a Fish oil that meets these criteria you have increased your knowledge as well as your health.
