Today, I would like to take the opportunity to look at our nutritional habits. Below are two regiments that will help you to see positive change in your life as well as achieve your healthy goals:
1. Put the right things into your body.
2. Help your body to digest and absorb what you are consuming.
This will be a 3 part series that will help us look into what we can do on a regular basis without much time or extra effort to increase our health dramatically. Our focus will be on Healthy Eating Habits, Supplementation, and Quality of Food and Supplements.
Healthy Eating Habits
If you talk to 10 experts about health you will likely get 10 different answers on what healthy eating means. Each expert will recommend variations oflifestyle choices like going vegan, eating free range meat, fasting, juicing, etc… In all the years of study on health only one constant has emerged, change. One week it is good to eat butter the next not, then it’s ok again as long as it is a special butter from cows that only walk east, sleep on fresh mountain grass and have never been stressed in their lives. The point is that even if your intentions are good you will find it hard to keep up with the latest health trends.
What good does it do us to chase our tails trying the newest super-foods often at over-blown prices? What can we do to make it easier and less confusing to stay healthy? Start by keeping your food choices simple.
Food has been eaten since the beginning of time and will continue until well after you and I are gone. This is a common trait that we share with everyone who has ever lived because we need to eat to live. This may sound ridiculous, but stop and think about the average American diet. How much of what you eat daily can you grow or at least trace to what it is grown from? If your answer is you get it out of a box, your diet consists mostly of sugar, salt, corn, or a mixture of the chemicals which have been processed to the point that it is a product rather than a food. Can you pronounce the names of half the items in your food? Can you grow them if you wanted to?
Try increasing the amount of healthy food you eat and observe how your body responds by using the food to create health in all areas. Yes, having healthy food in your daily ritual is something you should do as much of as possible. This may sound like common sense, but have you actually made the effort? I mean really made the effort to eat (and drink) healthy.
What is Healthy Food?
Let’s put some definition to food. Food is simply anything that you can eat or consume that your body will digest. This is a very broad definition that can include many good and bad consumable items. Now let’s define healthy food. Healthy food on the other hand is anything you eat that adds to your well being. So the healthy eating habit that we should try to incorporate is easy, eat healthy food. To do this, make sure you can pronounce what you eat and make sure you know where it comes from. Start with basic foods and these easy steps. Stay tuned for easy ways to fill in your health gaps with our next article focusing on supplements.
It’s that time of year again, the snow has melted and spring is upon us. To some people this is a time of beautiful flowers, green grass, spring cleaning, vacations, and the list goes on. Yet to others the new coming season of spring can mean sickness, aches, pains, fevers, and allergies. You may wonder why some people get a burst of energy this time of year, while others curl up in a blanket and suffer through seasonal allergies. You may be asking yourself, “what is the difference between theses two types of people?” Is it hereditary (in their genes), a virus, or maybe their lack of immunizations? Or rather their environment, diet, stress, the amount of exercise, or the lack of essential nutrition in their life? You would be surprised by what many people believe to be true.

If you look at most New Year’s Resolution top ten lists almost all of them we have seen include 5 or more that involve getting healthier. 5 Birds 1 Stone
When we picture our future selves we often think of a healthier more robust person who has gained something for their effort. This ideal person we look to become is not created by a single act, but rather by a repetitious act that becomes our norm and standard way of life. One easy change that takes 50 cents a day and less than a minute to accomplish is to make Omega – 3′s a part of your daily routine. You can get pharmaceutical grade fish oil for less than the leading pack of gum. The healthy components present in fish oil effect all the above mentioned goals for increased health and more! Increase the success rate of your healthy new year resolutions by adding 1800 – 2000 mg of omega 3 fish oil to your daily diet.
How Do I Know Which Fish Oil To Get?
You have asked the right question, and unfortunately the answer is not easy. There are some companies that use misleading labels and then use fillers to make you think you are getting what you need and taking your money while not fulfilling their promises. You can look at the fish oil quality section on this blog to help with your selection. Make sure to at least get the right dosage/ day (1800 – 2000 mg minimum) and then learn about the cost effectiveness, easiest dosage, and best tasting. Make this year the year you complete your new year resolutions. To stay motivate, check out other blog posts about heart health, anti-aging and more.
